About Medical Fly Consulting

My journey into the health tourism sector began about 15 years ago. At the time, as a young university student, I started researching options in Germany for my own laser eye surgery. However, the prices were far beyond what a student budget could handle. As a result, I decided to search for a hospital in Turkey, my country of origin. My first step on this path turned out to be my own surgery. Little did I know that this procedure would lay the groundwork for establishing this company 15 years later.

However, the sector struck me as highly appealing and logical. The price difference between Europe and Turkey was significantly noticeable, and doctors in Turkey were highly advanced and experienced in the field of medicine. I spent a long time contemplating this idea and began familiarizing myself with the concept of health tourism even before graduating from university. After extensive research, market analysis, studying the conditions of other countries, comparing the differences between Turkey and Europe, meetings with hospital owners, countless sessions, fairs, congresses, and many trips between Turkey and Germany, I completed my business plan and decided to establish my company.

This is the story of how Medical Fly GmbH was born. The company quickly reached a high volume of patients. In the fields of obesity surgery, IVF, hair transplantation, and plastic surgery, I introduced many firsts to the health tourism industry. Through Medical Fly, I represented major hospitals in Turkey in Germany. I organized consultation days in various German cities, hosted free consultation sessions with plastic surgeons, and expanded our network by partnering with hairdressers and beauty salons. We strengthened our connections with Turkish-German businesspeople and chambers of commerce, participated in countless fairs, and Medical Fly grew steadily. We expanded the health tourism traffic that initially started in Istanbul and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to Izmir. In Izmir, we were among the pioneers in this business and significantly increased the number of obesity surgeries in the region. During this time, we also established Medical Fly Ltd. We obtained a health tourism authorization certificate, started managing our transfer operations, and began providing our own accommodation services. Medical Fly has also developed a mobile app called “BariApp” for bariatric surgeries, as well as a software solution for internal and external communication named “Julia.” Additionally, it was granted the ISO 9001 Quality Management Certificate by TÜV Rheinland in 2022. Throughout this journey, we provided health tourism training to the hospitals, doctors, and hospital staff we partnered with. Thanks to our expanding team, we internalized digital marketing processes, began offering consultancy in this area, and started collaborating with institutions. In short, ever since the concept of health tourism was born, we have been involved in every stage of the sector. To further specialize and provide professional consultancy services, I established Medical Fly Consulting. While traditional health tourism processes separately continue to be handled by Medical Fly Ltd., we, as Medical Fly Consulting, focus on offering entirely different, corporate, and personalized health tourism solutions.
